The Rating System
Every Everton player on this site gets a single Season Rating out of 10. The bulk of that rating comes from real match stats for the 2025/26 season, judged against the standards expected of their position. On top of that sits a fan opinion layer, because numbers alone never quite tell the full story of watching this team week in, week out.
Every rating starts with real 2025/26 match data, converted to per-90 numbers so playing time doesn't skew the result. Each stat is scored against what a Premier League player in that position should be producing, then scaled to a score out of 10.
On top of that sits a fan opinion layer. Stats can't see a defender organising the back four or a striker dragging centre-backs out of position. So the model is tuned by someone who watches every game. The stats lead, the eye test keeps them honest.
Raw numbers are grouped into categories tailored to each position. A goalkeeper is judged on shot stopping and distribution. A winger on goal threat, creativity and carrying. Every position has its own set of categories, and within each one the important stats are weighted higher.
Each bar below is a category score out of 10. Colours shift based on strength.

Category scores feed into a Performance score. A separate Selection score rewards availability based on minutes and appearances. The final Season Rating blends the two, with Performance carrying most of the weight.
Players who have played regularly in more than one position get a breakdown for each role. The Overall Season Rating at the top of the page blends those roles weighted by time spent in each.
